Remote Somatic Therapy
What to Expect from a Remote Somatic Session
During our time together, we will explore present-moment awareness, body wisdom, and sensory experiences to support your healing and liberation. Whether you are a one-on-one mentee in my Somatic Liberation & Intuitive Mentorship Program or accessing a drop-in Somatic Therapy session online, we will work together to be present, open, connected, and on purpose. Working with movement, breath, sensation, story, or stillness, my intention is to meet you where you are and hold space for whatever arises.
You are encouraged to show up exactly as you are, with whatever tools or practices are supportive of your unique needs. My role is to meet you with unconditional positive regard and guide and support you while honoring your agency and choice every step of the way.

Preparing for Your Remote Somatic Therapy Session
I exclusively work online, supporting clients all over the globe as I participate in my own journey of ancestral homecoming. This lifestyle allows me to bring a unique perspective and flexibility to our remote somatic therapy sessions, physically and emotionally meeting you right where you are. Remote somatic therapy offers powerful healing and grounding, even from a distance.
I genuinely believe in the magic of touch even while offering remote somatic care. With a bit of preparation and a sprinkle of creativity, we can harness the warmth and connection of presence throughout our time together, no matter where you are in the world. With ingenuity, we can tap into the benefits of supportive touch and body-based connection throughout our session. Here’s how to prepare for your remote somatic session to maximize this transformative experience.

Creating a Supportive Space for Remote Somatic Therapy
Essentials for Your Somatic Session:
-
- Comfortable Clothing: Choose loose, non-restrictive clothing that promotes easy movement and body awareness.
- Access to Solid Surfaces: Find a sturdy wall, floor, table, bed frame, tree trunk or sturdy chair to lean against or pull on. This connection with solid surfaces can invite a sense of stability.
- Quiet & Private (Enough) Space: Select a space where you can speak openly, focus on your body-based sensations, and explore movement with minimal distractions.
- Reliable Internet Connection: While we’ll navigate challenges together with grace, a steady connection helps us stay present and uninterrupted.
- Wireless Earbuds or Headphones (Optional): These can enhance sound quality and allow you to move freely during our session.
- Movement Space: We will explore movement and shape, so create a bit of space to shift your posture or move around comfortably from seated, lying, or standing. Even having access to adjusting in your chair is great! Many clients find that remote somatic therapy allows them to explore movement and grounding in the comfort and accessibility of their own space.
Accessing the Power of Touch Remotely
Optional Supportive Tools for Somatic Therapy
-
- Soft blanket(s), bolster(s), or pillow(s): We may use under or over you to enhance comfort and support or reduce sensory input.
- Clothing & Textures: Grounding textures like cozy wool or weightier fabrics may help you feel held or more connected, whereas lighter fabrics may enhance a sense of levity or movement.
- A scarf, shawl, or yoga strap: May assist with containment, or inviting grounding and a sense of safety during sensory exploration.
- Eye pillow: Promote deep relaxation or reduce visual stimulation.
- Weighted object(s): (Like a sandbag, bean bag, a bag of rice, or weighted blanket.) Supports grounding, weight exploration, containment, and a snug embrace.
- Supportive Base: A heavy blanket, a thick yoga mat, a bed or a sturdy chair can provide comforting support.
- Self-Contact: Simple gestures like placing a hand on your heart, belly, or the ground beneath can foster connection and regulation.

Using Camera & Audio Mindfully During Online Somatic Sessions
Camera Use: A Supportive Remote Tool, Not a Requirement
In our remote somatic sessions, the camera serves as a tool to enhance our connection. Video helps me track your body language and movements, providing valuable insight into guiding our session. However, using the camera is entirely optional.
Your comfort, self-connection, and choice are my top priorities.
If moving or exploring shapes causes you to feel self-conscious to the point of not being useful or if worrying about keeping yourself in camera view gets in the way of exploring movement, you are welcome to adjust your camera or even turn it off. If you decide to turn off your camera, I’ll do the same.
Audio Equipment: Enhancing Somatic Freedom and Flow
Using wireless earbuds or headphones can strengthen our connection and keep the sound flowing freely, allowing you to move without being tethered.
The larger your screen, the better your view—work with what’s available and set it up where it feels best for you. A stable surface like a table, stand, or shelf that allows for a bit of movement view works perfectly. This way, you’ll enjoy our session without any distractions, and we can focus on what truly matters—your experience.

Meaningful Items & Personal Practices
Grounding Tools for Remote Somatic Therapy
I honor and celebrate the diverse cultural, religious, spiritual, and personal practices each client brings into our work. If there are items that hold personal, cultural, spiritual, or sentimental significance for you—whether that’s objects from nature, photos, keepsakes, ancestral items, ceremonial tools, sensory aids, or anything else that supports your presence and grounding—you are warmly invited to include them in our sessions.
I recognize that healing, spirituality, and grounding look different for everyone. You are encouraged to show up as you are, with whatever support you need, whether cultural, religious, sensory, or practical. Some items might be useful, others not, and that might shift over time. Your meaningful tools and practices are welcome here- not required. Whether you want to be surrounded by these items, hold them during our work together, or even be outside in nature (as long as we have good reception and sound continuity), I fully support your choice to bring whatever feels right.

No Pressure, Just Options
Your Choice, Comfort, and Experience Come First
The suggestions above are potential tools that may support your experience and help you access a sense of touch and presence during our remote work together. There’s no pressure to use them—just options to meet you where you are and hold space for whatever supports your healing, connection, and sense of belonging.
My goal is to collaboratively create a space for your experience where you can feel fully present, empowered in your choices, and at ease. Together, we’ll explore whatever tools are available, including imagination and sensory awareness. Remote somatic therapy can be just as powerful as in-person sessions when approached with flexibility and the right preparation.
My practice is intentionally inclusive of BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and individuals with disabilities. I’m eager to learn with you and adapt to ensure you receive the support you need.
Don’t hesitate to reach out before our session if you have questions or specific requests!
