This Body Is Not a Problem to be Fixed

Feb 3, 2018

This Body Is Not a Problem to be Fixed   This body is an ancient galactic explosion – composed of hydrogen, flesh, carbon, superannuated stars, grit and sweat and tenderness.   This body shared ten and a half months with God. It held a small forming creature within my womb while the rest of me […]

On love in the great unknown…

3me too

me too

Oct 17, 2017

“out there” is an illusion. the microcosm is a reflection of the macrocosm. there is nothing that exists within your body that does not exist in the world. there is nothing in the world that does not exist within your body. <3 lover, killer, rapist, artist, reverend, healer, fool… i am that. as are you. […]

Runaway Train

saturday we were given the news that bodhi’s best childhood friend took his own life. i have loved him like he was my own young cub since he was 5 years old. i felt like he was my kid too. for years he spent 2-4 overnights at my house each week and when life got […]

5Love Is The Field

Love Is The Field

Feb 22, 2015

earlier today i was thinking of a man i’ve loved deeply since the day we met. today is his birthday and even after all this time, i don’t love him any less than the instant i melted into loving him completely. for a moment it felt bittersweet, as if he was “the love of my […]

6Got Self-Love?

Got Self-Love?

Feb 6, 2015

You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love & affection. ~ Buddha February is such a delicious opportunity to dive […]

7Give Your Love Away!

Give Your Love Away!

Aug 10, 2014

Under the veil of night, Post-it love messages and poetry rocks adorn random doorsteps to be found in the morning by unknown residents. Another evening, a dear friend & I thoroughly enjoyed slinking into the drama section of a neighborhood video store to leave this gift behind. Since Aug. 5th I’ve been on a personal 40 Day Journey and each day I am taking […]

8Intuitive Heart Opening Session

Intuitive Heart Opening Session

Dec 28, 2012

It all starts with the breath. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. (Repeat.) Eyelids merged, I dive into the depths beyond my form. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Repeat. An ocean of sound rises somewhere from deep within my chest, warming the back of my throat. I am home. I am here. The earth beneath me opens as a channel […]

  • i just got done with a three-day alternatives to violence facilitator training workshop in jail with incarcerated men that i have grown to deeply love and adore. my body is tired, my heart is heavy, tender as well as soft, grateful and so fucking full. ♥️ being in relationship with these men is like coming to know and witness beautiful, wild, magical creatures.
these magical creatures are locked in a cage.
i can temporarily get in the cage with them: share love, heartbreak, hurt, joy, personal stories and soooo much laughter.
at the end of the day, i go home.
they stay in the cage.
i can't take them out of the cage.
every single one of them has a story that would bring you to your knees. --- as i was leaving yesterday, we noticed a blue belly lizard sunning itself on the stairs that lead to the yard. (men's honor farm has a yard that is chain-linked and open-air to the hills beyond - unlike the main jail with an small empty concrete box for a yard surrounded on all sides by two-story high brick-walls and a metal grate bisecting the view of the sky.) the men and i scrambled to try to catch it. after a few attempts we moved on and i walked with the other outside facilitators toward the guard station to exit the jail.
one of the young men i have gotten to know and care for deeply over the past few months chased behind me yelling for me to wait. he had the lizard tenderly cradled in his hands. with earnest entreat in his voice, he looked me in the eyes and said "please take this lizard out with you. free him from this jail." earlier that day we had talked about how lizard is his spirit animal.
this is for him. ♥️ ---- Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu "May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all." #restorativejustice #alternativestoviolence #humandignity #loveisboundless #jailblues #iloveyou #youmatter #betheone #wildhearthealingarts
  • i returned to our memorial spot yesterday and delighted to see matthew's rose petals all along the shoreline, mingling with the sunlight and current. he's gone. our love remains. -------/----- ps. if you know someone struggling with suicidal thoughts or ideation, please confront them directly. find the courage to act. talk to them. ask them if they have thought about suicide. don't worry about being disloyal or not having the "right words" or sufficient information. reach out. asking the suicide question DOES NOT increase risk. listen, talk things out and get others involved.
QPR - Question. Persuade. Refer. - Question the person about suicide:
* Do they have thoughts? Feelings? Plans? * Don't be afraid to ask. Research has shown repeatedly that once people are asked they feel relief, not distress. - Persuade the person to get help:
* Listen carefully. * Give your full attention & do not interrupt. * Do not rush to judgement. * Tame your own fears so you can focus on the other person. * Wait unti they finish speaking, then say, "Let me help, or "Come with me to find help." (if persuasion fails, call the hotline or emergency services.) - Refer for help:
* If a child or adolescent, contact any adult, any parent. Or call your minister, rabbi, tribal elder, a teacher, coach or counselor or calk the numbers below. (in many counties in US, dialing 211 will connect you with a host of local referral services including mental health services.)
* If agreeable, accompany them to the known or trusted resource.
Immediately after you address + offer support, broaden their safety net by asking "Who else would you like to know that you're feeling this bad?" MAKE SUICIDE HARD.
- remove the means to suicide: car keys, gun, rope, knives, poisons & medications. get temporary off-site storage of firearms. (some police stations will store firearms during a crisis.) suicide is preventable. talking things out CAN save a life.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 24/7 at 1-800-273-8255
if you are a veteran, call Vets4Warriors at 855-838-8255 - a trained veteran will answer your call 24/7 for peer support ♥️
  • a year ago today the child of my heart & bodhi's best friend since kindergarten took his own life. we love you forever matthew. ♥️ this evening we honored him via water and moonlight, and wrote him tiny love notes carried into the ether via fire and wind.
dear matthew, we gave to the river six dozen roses for each year of your age on the day we first met. we miss you my dear and feel you everywhere. we will love and remember you always. ♥️ .

  • The youth had spoken with impassioned force. Moved to tears by their words, I was a witness to their experience. I don't know what it's like to go to school everyday with the gnawing fear of rampant school mass-shooting and routine lock down drills... After they spoke we marched, led by the youth.

The march was over. Several teens ushered the end of the rally with a live musical performance. My eyes ere closed, hand on my heart and I sang along as a young woman sang "Blackbird." Suddenly I felt the warmth of two furry creatures jumping into and curling up on my lap. The darker brown love pup stayed with me for over an hour, cuddled up and in total comfort and trust napping on and off. I had no idea where they came from but I felt incredibly blessed by them. I'm grateful that they shared their warmth with me. Eventually, their person made their way over and snapped this picture for me.
Dogs are healers. We loved on each other so well. ♥️ #healingpaws #marchforourlives #sanluisobispo #grateful #iloveanimals #wildheartsunite

  • a glimpse into my office as i craft magic well into the twilight hours... for the past few days i've chosen to fast from all media (radio, print, videos, social media and text messaging) as i have allowed the pulse of inspiration to continue to ignite my creative fire. i strike while the iron is hot, and at the moment it is blazing...
i've been dreaming into and bringing to form a reinvigorated seven month intuitive healing & mentorship program for my clients, an experiential workshop on embodied love and an online wild heart community workshop series for many, many, moons. the dreaming time is over. this magic is just about ready to launch! ♥️♥️♥️ #SLOhealers #wildhearthealingarts #lovemagic #takingaction #innerauthority #listentoyourwildheart #beingawomanisasuperpower #yaylife #sanluisobispo #thisiswhereigivemyfucks #chasingdreams #followingmydharma #introvertmagic #letsplay

  • there is this magical creature i have known my whole lifetime...
for most of my life i tried to section her in parts - this part exceptional, this part pathetic, this part shameful, this part crazed... lately i've been in awe of the way she loves, the way she plays, the immeasurable beauty that dances forth from her soul... i want to take a minute to proclaim aloud that i love this woman that is me... the more i am willing to sit with her,
to really listen,
to enjoy the shifts in her internal tide,
the more i find ease in being in her depths.
the more i carve out time to hear her heart song, the more i want to sing it out loud... y'all... i think she's really fucking rad!
and i give no fucks to any patriarchal system that wants me to believe that this kind of love affair should be silenced.
so there. i said it. i'm in love with my own heart & the spirit that contains it. fuck yah, i'm sayin' that shit OUT. LOUD.
ps. i think you rock too!! (that's probably not new news...) i'm letting this wild heart out to play!!!! ❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️
