We are gathering to create a container of collective community care. Please give from your overflow. For those with limited financial means, please do not concern yourself with offering a financial contribution.
Your presence is enough.
artemisia shine helps people and communities get free.
She is a stand for your right to live from a care-ethic (rather than a work-ethic) so that you can attend to yourself, others and the community in ways that are inspired and joyful. As a queer, multi-racial, healer, mamma, and coyote medicine maker, artemisia has committed her life to examining and interrupting systems of oppression around gender, race, ecology, mental health, and ability. artemisia has a passion for bringing conscious movement, nonviolent communication, and body-based mindfulness to under-served marginalized groups, incarcerated populations and trauma-impacted communities.
Over 900+ hrs. of training as a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist, 22 years of personal yoga practice, three 200hr Yoga Alliance teacher certifications and over 10 years in private practice as a trauma-focused healer, somatic therapist, and counselor enable her to meet you with profound presence and unconditional warm regard for whatever you bring to the table. Her work as a Community Organizer, gender justice advocate, social justice activist, yoga teacher, and violence prevention workshop facilitator within the criminal justice system gives her an intersectional lens on trauma and oppression.
In her free time, she can be found trying to snuggle her newly adult son, successfully snuggling her rattie loves, preparing delicious vegetarian decadence, wandering the local nature trails, pedaling barefoot thru the streets of San Luis Obispo, falling madly in love with random animals that cross her path, and laying naked along pristine coastlines soaking up the radiance of the sun.

The labels put on her that she chooses to embrace are “Black, Queer, cis-gendered woman”, and she is a self-identified “word-weaving, witchy wood nymph”. You can typically find either her nested in a warm seat, wearing a cozy sweater, a French Press full of tea at hand with a big mug in her lap, smooth jazz on in the background, weaving magic or getting lost amongst the trees in the woods.
